Housing Voucher Information

Using Your Section 8 (OKC Housing Authority) Voucher

What is the Housing Voucher Program?

The Housing Voucher (HV) Program, formerly known as Section 8, is a federally funded program for assisting very low-income families, elderly, and disabled households to afford decent, safe, and sanitary housing in the private market. Eligible Participants will have a housing subsidy paid to the landlord directly by OCHA on behalf of the participating family on a unit of their choice within the Oklahoma City limits. The family then pays the difference between the actual rent charged by the landlord and the amount subsidized by the program which is generally 30% of their adjusted income. Households that participate in the HV program are selected from OCHA’s waitlist.
